Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer – 12m FTC

To commission fire detection and alarm systems. Would be beneficial if applicant can also commission door access, CCTV and Intruder alarm systems & to also support current engineers with knowledge sharing & escalation.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5+ years of senior commissioning experience on fire systems

Commissioning of both conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems to a high standard of workmanship

  • Commissioning of Intruder, Access control, Nurse Call and CCTV systems to a high standard of workmanship (beneficial)
  • Installing small works of all types of life safety systems
  • Providing on-going training to existing engineering base to help develop knowledge throughout the company
  • Implement particular security processes or activities, as requested by management
  • Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organisation
  • Understanding the clients’ needs and fulfilling all jobs required
  • Commission of fire systems to BS5839-1 and part 6
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced cause and effect logic
  • Diagnose and rectify complex commissioning stage faults and issues
  • Knowledge of HTM 05-03 part b is desirable (training will be provided)
  • Complete commissioning certificates, test results and handover documentation
  • Microsoft Office literate
  • Support system demonstrations, client training and final handover
  • Assist with modifications, remedial and service work where required

Essential requirements for the job

  • Strong background and knowledge within Fire Security
  • GENT & Advanced Fire Alarm systems knowledge
  • Excellent first-time resolution & risk management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proven background and experience of working within fire engineering.
  • Experience of undertaking service, repair work
  • Experience of conventional and addressable fire systems across a range of manufacturers equipment
  • Excellent installation practices
  • Full understanding to BS5839-1 is essential.
  • Full driving licence
  • FIA commissioning accreditations
  • Proven track record of working on large scale systems
