Installation Manager

Key Purpose of the Job
The post holder shall be responsible for the overall management of all KST installations, ensuring all are completed to the highest standard, on programme and to the projected profit margins or better. The Installation Manager (IM) will have full cost control and operational delivery performance responsibility across all installations undertaken. The position demands that the job holder understands and responds to the needs of balancing delivery and satisfying customer expectations whilst meeting financial and delivery objectives. The IM will provide leadership and motivation needed to promote effective industrial relations and improve efficiency, thus enhancing KST’s reputation as a quality provider of Electronic Security services.

Key Job Responsibilities:
✓ Manage the successful implementation and delivery of the installation to client requirements and KST
commercial criteria ensuring all jobs are delivered on time and in budget and productivity maximised
✓ Ensure labour levels are sufficient (quantity, quality, and skills) are always in line with workload,
assisting with selection and allocation of labour in conjunction with Scheduling to provide planning and
allocation of manpower along with equipment required for jobs, e.g., MEWP’s, equipment, etc.
✓ Selection of subcontract labour and agreement of terms.
✓ Validation and technical appraisal of specifications and quotes prior to mobilisation of install, working
closely with the Sales team to review projects, record, monitor and advise of any defects and
specification deviations.
✓ Provide supervision of the specialist/subcontractor and commissioning (where applicable) to ensure all
site-based activities and installations are progressed in line with contractual requirements and within
applicable industry standards in conjunction with Regional Engineering Supervisors.
✓ Act as point of escalation for all issues relating to Install department.
✓ Technical assistance re parts and alternatives – provide and/or signpost as required.
✓ Liaison with and support of Install Scheduling at all times.
✓ Technical Audits/site visits – ensure carried out in line with Compliance requirements
✓ All variations captured and charged where appropriate, thus enabling accurate billing and Final
Account submission
✓ Carry out monthly operational and commercial Contract Reviews with Operations Director.
✓ Forecasting of revenues and margins in conjunction with the Business Support Manager.
✓ Liaison with Service dept & management to ensure continuity at handover
✓ Develop strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and collaborative partners representing
the client’s or organisation’s interests
✓ Conduct regular safety and quality audits on KST Engineers along with Subcontractors and monitor Health
&Safety of those allocated, assisting with the production of RAMS as required.
✓ Provide regular project reports indicating progress and position within the program as required
✓ Document all Installation assumptions, risks, issues, and lessons to be learned, escalating to head of
Engineering where applicable and relevant
✓ Implement and act in accordance with the organisations information security policies
✓ Protect assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference
✓ Implement particular security processes or activities, as requested by management
✓ Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organisation

Essential Requirements for the Job:
✓ Experience in the design, installation, commissioning, and servicing of commercial security systems.
✓ Experience of managing multiple projects within the Security industry.
✓ Strong technical understanding of Intruder, CCTV, and access systems.
✓ An understanding of relevant product standards and legislation.
✓ Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
✓ Good understanding of current British Standards.
✓ Strong MS Office skills.
✓ Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
✓ Management and leadership skills.
✓ Commercial awareness.
✓ Team working skills, and an ability to motivate people.
✓ Excellent commercial forecasting skills.
✓ Strong customer service ethos and retention skills.
✓ A passion for system process improvements and building effective successful teams.

Desirable Requirements for the Job:
✓ Certifications: PMP (or Prince), ITIL, CCNA, MCSE or equivalent.
