Q). When did you begin your apprenticeship with Kings Security?
A). September 2013
Q). What qualification are you doing as part of your apprenticeship?
A). I have completed Level 2 & am currently doing a Level 3 Diploma in Electronic Security and Emergency Systems.
Q). Why did you choose the apprenticeship route?
A). It gives me an opportunity to learn and work towards a fully qualified, knowledgeable-based job, which would give me a lifetime career in an area of work which I enjoy doing.
Q). What is it like working for Kings Security?
A). I’ve been working for Kings nearly 3 years and I think they are a really good company to work for – it has been the best decision I have made in joining them. The best part of the job for me is the different situations and different locations from week-to-week you can find yourself in.
Q). What, in your opinion, does an apprenticeship with Kings offer to a young person?
A). Lots of things, mainly having the opportunity to learn a wide range of courses – for example, different alarm systems and panels, door access systems, fire, etc.
Q). How does work life differ to school life?
A). Completely different – actually getting hands-on learning and getting out there in the real world. Earning money whilst learning sounds pretty good to me!
Q). What are you career ambitions?
A). To be a fully qualified engineer, being able to fit intruder, door access, CCTV analogue and IP, and maybe even some more different systems. Eventually, I’d like to be a supervisor of my own area and team.
Q). Could you describe your day-to-day responsibilities?
A). Well that’s a big list! The main responsibilities are health and safety and making sure that customers are looked after properly and that you do all that you can for them when you are there – there are a lot of them!
Q). Can you describe yourself in three words?
A). Enthusiastic. Passionate. Kind.
