Kings Security is the official sponsor of EPRUFC and has a long-standing history of working alongside the police, particularly in West Yorkshire. We’re also the official sponsors of the England Police Rugby League team.
Anthony’s captaincy was made official on Wednesday 10th February before the team’s match against the Scottish Police. The event was marked with a pre-match lunch where Ilkley Rugby Club captain, Mike Hailing greeted guests before an official presentation announcing Anthony as the new club captain for the EPRUFC team. Current team captain Adam Fogarty also presented Anthony with his captain’s jacket.
The event was attended by a number of high profile guests including Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe, ex-British Lions player, John Bentley, President of the Scottish Rugby Union, Ed Crozier, Chief Constable at Nottinghamshire Police, Chris Eyre, EPRUFC Chairman and Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary, Mike Barton and Deputy Chairman and Founder of EPRUFC, Peter Oram.
Anthony’s captaincy is a testament to the excellent relationship that we have with the English Police Force after many years of working together, and it is a brilliant achievement for Anthony.
Speaking about his new role for the club, Anthony said:
“It’s an absolute honour to be chosen as the EPRUFC’s new club captain.
“We have been involved in the English police force rugby for a number of years now and as a Yorkshire born and bred family firm, rugby is in our DNA. I would like thank everyone at EPRUFC for this fantastic opportunity and I thoroughly look forward to my time with the club.”
