Rob King takes on Yorkshire Marathon for charity

October 3rd, 2016 | Posted by: admin

***UPDATE – Congratulations to Rob, who smashed his target time and completed the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 hours 56 minutes!  What an amazing achievement!***Yorkshire Marathon 2016

This Sunday (9th October), our Head of Strategic Engagement; Rob King will be tackling the Yorkshire Marathon to help raise funds for St Leonard’s Hospice.

St Leonard’s Hospice is a charity which provides free specialist palliative care and support for local people with life threatening illnesses. It runs an in-patient unit, day care centre and Hospice@Home service.  Care is provided free of charge. Each year the hospice needs about £4 million to keep going. About a quarter comes from public funding sources, such as the NHS. The majority, however, comes from donations, legacies and fundraising.

This will be Rob’s second marathon, (having completed the same course back in 2013), and he is hoping to complete the course and beat his previous time of 4 hours 20 minutes.

We are super proud of you Rob and know you will do well!  Good luck!
