Kings Security has joined a select group of organisations to be accredited by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) to deliver its Project Griffin counter terrorism awareness initiative to its staff.
Originally devised by the City of London Police back in 2004, Project Griffin aims to protect UK cities and communities from the threat of terrorism following a number of high profile terrorist attacks in the UK and abroad. Up until recently, the training modules (currently there are 13) were owned and managed by NaCTSO and delivered by Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs). Modules cover the awareness of an array of topics, from insider threats and drones, to firearms & weapons attacks, cyberattacks and social media.
In April of this year however, NaCTSO launched a new Griffin based initiative – Industry Self-Delivery. Details of the ambitious plan were announced at the annual Security and Counter Terrorism Expo in London, which now allows accredited organisations to train their own employees; extending the reach of the initiative to ten times of the previous amount.
Having met the strict criteria, we were successful with our application in gaining accreditation, and training is being delivered at our state-of-the-art, award winning training academy, based at Kings HQ in Bradford.
