Kings Announces Bliss as Primary Charity for 2018

Kings Secure Technologies is proud to announce that we will be supporting Bliss as our Primary Charity this year. Bliss is the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick and with an employee who has directly experienced the support and wonderful work that they do, the choice to support them was simple.

Bliss is a community of parents, families, volunteers, health professionals and researchers all working together to make sure the sickest and most vulnerable babies in the UK have the best possible start in life. With over 95,000 babies affected in the UK every year Bliss have made it their vision that “every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life”. Vital to determining survival, long-term outcomes and the quality of life of these vulnerable babies is the neonatal unit and care they receive, which is where Bliss has been making a difference for almost 40 years.

Bliss champions the right for the best care through:

Supporting Families – From equipping families with information, to providing emotional and practical support, Bliss empowers parents to be as involved as possible in the care and decision making for their baby.

Supporting Professionals – With a focus to family-centred care Bliss works hand-in hand with health professionals on the neonatal unit to ensure that care for babies is of the highest possible standard. Through providing training and facilitating a community for both information and support to be shared the practice of providing the best possible care is promoted.

Campaigning for Change – Through evidence-based campaigns Bliss are dedicated to shining the light on issues affecting the care for babies born sick or premature in the UK. With a desire to change the official policy standards of care Bliss campaigns for the voices of these babies at the heart of decision making.

Enabling Life-changing Research – Bliss aims to make the biggest difference to the lives of babies by carefully identifying and funding research projects whilst also collaborating with others to support large-scale projects. Currently supporting £10.1 million of research this work is responsible for significant improvements in the care and treatment of babies born premature or sick.

With our Kings Community Support Committee bustling with ideas of ways we can raise donations we will be kicking off our year of fundraising for Bliss with “The Great King’s Bake off!” On the last Friday of every month employees will be invited to showcase their baking talents through producing a range of delicacies. Beginning with the British classic Victoria Sponge on Friday 27th April the winner will be determined by whose cake sells out fastest and raises the most money!

We’re also hoping to host a Bliss Summer Gala. A fun day to be had with all profits donated to Bliss, further details will be released nearer to the time so keep an eye out for our updates!
