This customer has been a client of Kings Security Systems for almost a decade over which time Kings has looked after the installation, maintenance & monitoring of intruder alarms.
The estate is typically made up of foreign exchange bureaus that are situated within major airports across the UK.
In February of this year our client took over 8 Money Exchanges together with an ATM room that would now be re-branded. Each required a completely new alarm system.
As these sites are all situated within Heathhrow Terminal 5, both landside and airside, the security controls were very stringent. All of our engineers needed their passports to attend site and had to undergo an induction meeting before they could be issued a special permit to commence work. This took place several days before the installations could be carried out.
Careful coordination ensured all equipment could be sent directly to a holding area at Terminal 5 before being individually dispatched to each of the 9 locations. It was then held awaiting installation.
On the 29th February 9 installation teams were deployed and worked through the night alongside electricians, shop fitters and other contractors. The installations all needed to be carried out within a strict time frame as access to certain parts of the system (front of house) was only allowed between 22:30 hrs and 04:30 hrs.
The outgoing Money Exchanges ceased trading on the evening of the 29th and moved out before midnight. Once the installations had taken place our client was able to commence trading the following morning without any disruption to trade.
Brian Fisher, National Account Manager, commented. ‘We were very pleased with the quality of work from our installation teams and the management of this project that had to be carried out within a strict time frame.
