Following a “rigorous” tendering process last year the contract was awarded to Kings and the retailer’s entire estate went live with IP and GPRS signalling within four weeks.
The win is the latest in a series of high profile successes which has seen companies like DSG International – with Curry’s, PC World and The Link amongst its portfolio of leading brands – Jessup’s, Border Books and Starbucks, confirming Kings not only as a centre of excellence in IP signalling within the UK but also a company delivering astonishing levels of client satisfaction.
Building relationships Neil Warwick, Mothercare’s UK Profit Protection Manager, sums up Kings service as “very responsive”.
“Kings are very good at building a relationship with their clients” he says “From our point of view, progress is quick because they work hard at understanding the business we are in”.
“We like Kings innate honesty, too, if there’s a glitch and it’s their problem they don’t debate the issue to death – they put their hands up and sort it!”
Established Company Neil says Mothercare selected Kings after comparing a wide range of services offered by Kings and others but in the end “we felt very comfortable with the whole ethos of the company. Kings is an established company with a solid family background – not a remote monolith – and throughout the tendering process their team was very responsive, very attentive to our needs and questions.”
He stressed the detail which went into the tender – even mining down to staff training processes – and says the system, post installation, is working well and fully living up to specifications and expectations ..
Problem-free Kings worked closely with WebWayOne with whom they have enjoyed a long standing relationship for the supply and support of Webway 2424 signalling solutions – project managing the Mothercare roll-out including pre-configuration of systems, installation and monitoring.
“Despite configuring over 200 stores, each with its own installation challenges, the system went live within four weeks and the whole process was relatively problem free” says Neil.
‘In fact, probably the biggest hurdle was convincing our IT people that the IP alarm/CCTV signalling and data wouldn’t eat up their bandwidth!
Once Kings demonstrated their fears were unfounded and the technology is proven, the obvious benefits of IP were recognised”.
